Yellow and Orange and Graduation, Oh My...

So, on Saturday, Kennedy and Darrell graduated from a white belt in Brazilian Jujitsu to Yellow for Darrell and Orange for Kennedy. According to their instructor, the color difference was not due to levelling, but due to age.
Here is Darrell waiting for his Yellow Belt to be bestowed upon him.
His instructor talking to him about how the year went and some of the things he noticed about Darrell's development.
Ahhh, the bestowing of the belt!

Now, through some sort of parental mis-communication, Kennedy was not present for the belting ceremony. She was out shopping with Lisa. Hmmm... what to do? I know! We will have Jeremy accept her belt for her...
OH Such a proud moment! He's worked so hard for this! Driving them back and forth, and back and forth again!... crazy, I know it.

So, Kennedy wasn't there - but that didn't stop us from doing the next best thing. Rick has been to Brazil, so he's practically certified to handle this situation. We handed him the belt, put Kennedy in Darrell's Gi, and off we went with the camera!
Sure, it wasn't QUITE the same, but in the end, Kennedy got her belt and certificate, and I got my pictures for scrapbooking purposes...
He does look like he's from Brazil, doesn't he... ?? :)
Good Job Kennedy and Darrell! I am so proud of you for taking down the enemy with your impressive grappling skills!

Circe and her Phone

This Summer - Circe got a cell phone. Little did I know what happens when you give a 15 year old a cellular device. It's kind of like feeding a gremlin aftermidnight or getting it wet. (You all remember that old movie - right?) See - their whole world starts to function around this little device. It's incredible. They can't go a day without it - they MUST text their friends. They MUST have it in their pocket. I think that they even sleep with it. They check it constantly, even if it has not gone off. And, if the device has not vibrated in more than 10 minutes, they will then text their friends to make sure that they are still on the other end of things. Just to be sure, you know... If you take it away, even for a moment, the graspy little hands come out and it's "Come on! Give it back!" Never mind the fact that they have been managing their life just fine without it for 14 years prior... and who cares about sleep when you have texts to send!?! Anyway, just wanted to share...

More Photoshopping

Look what I did! Yeah, I know... I am so awesome. I love photoshop - one of the best things that has ever been invented. If I just take the time now to print the photographs the way that I want them to look, I would be willing to bet that my scrapbooks would look just the way that I have always wanted to have them look... It's only too bad that I don't have the time to go through each picture one by one and make them look the way that I want them to look, huh.

Anywho - I just wanted to share. In this picture, Rick looks almost JUST like his mom - just minus the long brown hair. Maybe I should have him grow it out.

I WANT TO POINT WITH A STICK!

This is the best advice EVER!

New Family Pictures

So, my Sister - the most wonderful photographer on the planet - took my family photographs just before Circe had to leave again. I personally think that families should take pictures at LEAST yearly. So, against all of the protests of my 4 children and my loving spouse, I dragged their butts out and made them take pictures with me again. :) These are just a sampling until I get the real thing back... And, actually, the three below this are ones that I took - not the ones taken by Monarch Photography even though they are the best photography in the whole valley for the money you spend...

So, here is Circe and her Dad. Giving the same look she always gives him - that "Oh come on" look - I don't remember what they were talking about, but I am sure that he was spinning another one of his tales...
Darrell - showing off his snazz-i-rific muscles. I find that I typically get pictures of him alone - next year I am going to get one with him and the girls together just because I don't have one of those right now. Didn't notice it until today, but that's alright. There is always next year, and I love taking pictures, so I will just drag them all out again. - sounds like fun, eh?

And, of course, here are all of my girls. Just remember, you have to sacrifice the body to get the good shots in... that's right ... SACRIFICE THAT BODY!

Now, I have to get back to work... I am, apparently, slacking off right now. It's because it's Wednesday - HUMP day - halfway through the week... and this is a 6 workday week for me - so, I am glad that it's halfway over with. HUGS To All Ya'll!
