BAH - sometimes I just get so mad

I don't care how you feel about either Senator McCain or Senator Obama - I don't think that there should be ANY reason that animals get harmed because of someone's feelings one way or the other. The link is above, but I am listing the article below too -

CULLOWHEE – An Arden businessman is offering a reward today for information leading to an arrest in the case of a dead bear covered in Barack Obama campaign posters that was dumped at the entrance to Western Carolina University.

Linn Beachem, owner of Beachem Carpet & Tile Care, said his $500 reward is not about the potential political message behind the incident. Instead, he is motivated by the act of someone killing and then dumping a bear on campus.

“I don’t want to make it about politics,” he said this morning. “It is just a despicable act.”

Beachem is hoping the $500 reward will spur others to offer even more reward money that might lead to an arrest in the case.

A university spokesman this morning said campus police are following leads. The U.S. Secret Service has also been notified as a matter of routine protocol, said university spokesman Bill Studenc.

In another new detail this morning, investigators found writing on duct tape attached to the poster requesting that no one steal it, making it appear the sign had been stolen before it was placed on the bear, Studenc said.

Maintenance workers found the 75-pound bear cub at the roundabout near the Catamount statute about 7:45 a.m., said Tom Johnson, chief of university police.

“It looked like it had been shot in the head as best we can tell. A couple of Obama campaign signs had been stapled together and stuck over its head,” Johnson said.

University police called in N.C. Wildlife Resources officials to remove the body and help in the investigation.

Bear season is under way in Western North Carolina. It is illegal to kill bear cubs weighing less than 50 pounds, according to state hunting regulations.

“But this is certainly unacceptable,” Johnson said. “Someone evidently was wanting to draw attention to the election. If we find out who they are, we'll make sure they'll get some attention themselves.”

The university issued a statement calling what happened deplorable and troubling.

“We cannot speculate on the motives of the people involved nor who those people might be, said Leila Tvedt, associate vice chancellor. “Campus police are cooperating with authorities to investigate this matter.”

Johnson said he knew of no other complaints related to the election.

BAH - I'd just like to say -

That it's slightly irritating that I am at work. There are things that I want to blog - I have pictures for those things... and those pictures are at my house,..., RIGHT NOW. Good pictures too. I mean, there was pumpkin carving, and soccer, and stuff - and GOOD pictures... and they are at home, on my camera - just WAITING to be blobbed. But, do I have them here to blob? No! Could I blob about them anyway? Well, sure I could. I really could blob about them anyway - I could even post the pictures later. BUT, that would just stink because they would be at home until I finally got to the point where I could put them up online, and who KNOWS when that will be. BAH - I mean really... BAH. So, here's my rant for the day. If I were home, I would put up pictures with the rant - but I am not, so you will just have to deal with the text of the day. LOVE YA!

In TWO DAYS -

In Two Days - my Kennedy will be 10 years old finally... She seems older than 10 to me already. Over the last year she has changed and matured into a beautiful girl. She is reading better, solving puzzles on her own, trying new things without fear, and developing the self esteem that I hoped she would find.

I look back and it's hard for me to believe that she's gotten to big so fast. There are times when I wonder why it is that she doesn't climb up into my lap anymore, and then I realize that it's because she's gotten so big. But, there are things that we still can do together that she's just fine with - she lets me play with her hair, and we do lots in the kitchen together.
She's talented, she's bold, she's brave. She would give you anything she could just to see you smile. Though she can be bossy with her siblings, she is a people pleaser and doesn't like to see anyone down in the dumps. I am truly proud of the girl that she's turning out to be. I love to see her achieve her goals, and set new ones. She has the best imagination!
Anyway, this blog is for My Kennedy - though she may not ever read it, I just wanted to share. After all - they grow up SO fast.

October has finally arrived!

HAPPY OCTOBER EVERYONE!

Ok - so I know that it's only been a day since my last post - but, I figured that I would do my best to write something. I yanked some of the cruise photos off of my MySpace page since I haven't posted anything here yet - and hopefully you will be able to keep up with all the nonsense that I will write here.

Welcome to Cozumel - the City of Tulum! Probably one of the most fantastic sites that I have ever visited in my whole life. We didn't visit Tulum until the end of our cruise trip - but it was well worth the wait. I can definately say that I would love to go back here in the near future - preferably before 2012 - after all, the world is supposed to "End" then... RIGHT!?!

Here we are, yet again, in front of one of the temples in Tulum. Some random couple took this shot - but it turned out great!

Now - I took this shot - with the cave and the "house" and whatnot - The whole site was impressive and I could not choose a favorite shot sooner than I could choose a favorite star in the heavens. I liked the ocean, the sands, the shores, and the feeling that this entire site exuded. I can only say that Each person should, at least once in their life, go to a place such as this. Then - just stop - and examine the feelings that come along with it. I can almost guarantee that you will not be disappointed at the connection you feel.In Roatan (Above and Below). We took these pictures on my Birthday! That's right - Happy 31st! (This may be the only time that I publically admit that I am that old, so you may want to take a screen shot--- NOW) By the way, Roatan was THE BEST Birthday that I have had in 6 years. Just so you all know - I wouldn't mind getting another birthday present in the future that was similar to this one.

The picture here was taken at the top of one of the structures in Altun Ha - (Belize). It was Vastly different than anything in Tulum, but still an incredible and beautiful place to be. Altun Ha was interesting because many of the structures have not been excavated yet. So, there are mounds and mounds all over the place - I would LOVE to see what's underneath all of that dirt - but, apparently it's not time to unearth that area. Also, the Belizian government just doesn't have the money to do the excavation - so, it will sit like that for a while longer, I am certain.

Did we have a good time? We sure did! And I want to go back - SOON! Now -I have to get my self back to work. Hope that all is going well for everyone today - TTYS

Boogity Boogity Boo

So, it's true - I acquired myself a job. And - quite frankly - I like the job that I have acquired. I work for this company called Obeo. Now - most people may know them better as "360house.com". They are the site that does virtual tours of properties all over the country. So, you want to buy a house, you start looking - you can't stand Real Estate Agents - so you decide that you are going to look online. Then you find this site that does panoramas of the home. It's nice, because you can at least see the place before you drive up and are investing physical time... Stay in the comfort of your home and browse potential homes this way! Actually, it's quite nice. I mean, they even have a program that (if the realator adds it) you can change the color of counters, and cabinets, and paint on the walls. You can see what it would look like if you were to change it around. Psychologically, it's impressive, because you invest yourself in the home when you start making changes to it. It really is a pretty neat place to work for.

Also, I am not dealing with regular people here. I deal with Realators who are listing or who want to list. And, I am also in the billing department - which keeps me off the phones for some time whilst I am handling accounting issues. If the job works out - I can forsee myself quite happy here.

I didn't post any cruise pictures here just yet - I know, I know... it's because I just haven't done it. I stink. Though - they are all up on my Myspace page. I just need to drag them on over here. If you haven't read my other blob though - I will note it here as well... (I don't know who travels where on the internet... sheesh)

ANNOUNCING

On December 13th in the Year of our Lord 2008 - I will be at the Salt Lake City Temple, getting sealed to my sweetheart. If you can make it, that would be great - if you can't, well, I totally understand and that's just fine too. The endowments will be at 1:00 and the sealing is scheduled for 3:00. I can say that I am totally excited - because, well, I am. So - there's your news, if you haven't read the other blob that I have.

And now - I have to get back to work - but I will write more later... Really- NO , really - I promise... I will I will I will!

So, I get back from my cruise - take a few days to break - and then today I finally get to a point where I can start reading and catching up on the blobs that were left to me. Quirky Game- TAG I'm IT! The Rules: List the person who tagged you ( Thanks AMANDA!). Tell about 6 quirks of yours.

QUIRK #1 - I am super picky about my LISTS. In fact, I make the same cleaning list every day. Oh, sure - I've typed it up at least a dozen times, thinking that would stop the obsessive compulsive need to write the list the next day. But it doesn't help. I have to rewrite it every day. Even if I am not cleaning that day, the list must be written. Now, I will say that I did well when I was on the cruise - I didn't write the list at all... maybe it's because I was far enough away from my home that I didn't need to worry about it. BUT - I got home, and I started on the list again... interesting huh?!? No - it's just plain crazy. And I am... so, lets carry on please.

QUIRK #2 - When I decide to take on a project, like cleaning out my closet or organizing my craft closet - it could take all day. Now, a closet shouldn't take all day - but it does because things like pens, all need to be tested for working condition and then placed in their spots in the same way. They have to have the ink side pointing away from me!

QUIRK #3 - My Closet is color coordinated - I get very irritated if the shirts are out of order or the pants are placed somewhere other than where they belong. The shirt colors go; Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Pink, Beige, Tan, Brown, White, Black. You should also know that with this organization level, my socks must be the same way. I used to do my undies like this too, but the drawer is too small to keep up with it, so now they are getting shoved around in there... but the socks still get organized. You should see when Rick hangs up my clothes - I spend another half hour going through and putting things where I feel that they need to go because he just DOES NOT see the way that I have things laid out.

QUIRK #4 - My DvD's follow the same pathway as my closet - They are all alphabetized... and I get very bent out of shape when they get out of order. Same with books and such - I have got to have an order to things around here!

QUIRK #5 - If there are carts (Buggy's) in the parking lot around my car, I will move them all carefully into the cart return place. It's a habit I picked up from my first marriage. I can't stand it when there are carts around my car. I think that it's just plum lazy of people to not put their cart away when they are done. What... they are willing to walk around the store the whole time, but too tired to push a shopping cart to the return spot? Now, this isn't something that I do all the time - I don't do it when I am with Rick, because he's usually in a hurry and doesn't want me to fiddle with it...but when I am alone, there's not going to be a cart within 50 feet of my car, unless I am parked that close to the return... LOL

QUIRK #6 - I HATE those ridiculous e-mails that are forwarded from people... the whole "if you don't forward this to ten people then bad luck will befall you" - um... it's a CHAIN LETTER. People send those all the time, and I delete them - and sometimes, I send back a nasty little e-mail telling them that I would prefer not getting their junk just because they are superstitious. I also check out everything on Snopes and places like that. I think that it's important to research the things that you are reading! Just because it comes from my mom does not make it factual - so, I am notorious for checking things out and either putting a stop to the nasty rumors or chain letters going around, or I at least educate the person that chose to send it to me. Beware of sending those things to me!
