My Dear Honda

Though this is NOT my car - it looks something like this - minus the hub caps, and the pricing, and the fact that it's not dented and it looks as though it has been recently washed... SEMANTICS I SAY!!! ... The point is, that's kind of what my car looks like.

Now, this car is (To me) so much better than that VW that we have.  Rarely have I had problems with that car in comparison to the other car.  But, when it has a problem - it's a BIG problem.  There have been warning signs that something was wrong - there have been issues here and there... and my Mechanic is a doll, but I have to wonder about his expertise.  (And I seem to have the cars with the "Unknown" issues - Always).

So, about a month ago, this car was going along - driving happily - and as I increased my speed (Because I love to speed) The car powered off.  It was like it got NO fuel, and the whole thing shut down... NOW - I need to backtrack a little because this car has another problem too.  If I were to go to a gas station, to get a drink or whatever, and stop the car, do my thing, and come back to the car... it is almost guaranteed that the car won't start back up for about 10 minutes.  Just cranks over and over, with no catch...

Anyway, driving on the Interstate on May 1st, the car just Died... I coasted to a stop - waited for the 10 minutes and it started up again.  In the meantime I was on the phone with the mechanic, and we covered the issues.  I got to Ricks office, and he decided to follow me home - as we got onto the interstate again, during acceleration the car died again... wait another 10 minutes and it starts up again... I couldn't really go over 50 without the thing dying... so I progressed over to the Mechanic and he got the car in his possession and proceeded to work on it.

Diagnosis - Fuel Pump.  (Now, he's changed the Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, blown fuel lines and all of that)

I got the car back - 2 days later I am at Inkley's with Ash - (Thank goodness). After my class with her, I attempt to start the car, and it won't catch at all.  Well, that makes no sense to me, because I've been in the class for an hour.  Why won't it start now? After trying starter fluid and all sorts of stuff - (And calling my mechanic) I finally have it towed to the Mechanic...

Diagnosis - Distributor  (And this has been repaired)

The car starts.  The car runs.  I got the car back - and now I am driving along and the car again powers off.  I was TOLD that if the car wasn't getting fuel it would shut down like this... but it's not like the car is not getting gas, it's like it lost power.  I wait for 10 minutes, and back on it goes -

It's going back to Said Mechanic - but does ANYONE know what it would be?  I mean, We've done Fuel and Ignition - Ideas?

And don't tell me to get rid of the car - seriously... I am not even CLOSE to being in a position to do that....
So - come back down to earth and tell me - if you had a car that just DIED - where would you start?

Tooth Fairy

So, Last night during Dinner - Kennedy of the 11th year decided to show me her very wiggly tooth.  I told her "Wow - that's loose.  Please don't do that to me during dinner"  - and she did laugh...

Just before bed she comes down the stairs and presents me with her tooth... 

and though I was aware that she knew about Santa and the Bunny - somewhere I was HOPING that she wasn't too aware about the tooth thing.  I like sneaking in her room and attempting to put the money under the pillow and trade out the tooth.  It takes a lot of effort when they get a little older - But this year she just handed it to me and told me that we would square up on Saturday... 

Well, that just KILLS the dream.  It looks like My Stalking days are over now. 

OH... Wait...

Good thing I still have Darrell and Aspen!  BWAHAHAAAA!

My Evil April

Seriously - This is a Introduction to my Evil April - She works with me... yeah - I know - How could I let something like THAT happen?  I don't know.  But, what I do know is that she's a hecka lotta fun.  Seriously... Hecka.  If I ever had a "personality twin" she would be the one.  She quotes the movies and the music and she's just darn laid back - She's witty, and she's a great multi-tasker - and well - Darn it - She's me but cutier!  So, I am introducing you all to April - the Evil one.  May you hear lots more about her in the future... her and her EVIL ways... Bwahahaaaaa

Mmmm... Eggggggsssssss

So, this weekend was Easter.  Though I did get this Idea from an E-mail that was sent to me, I just thought that it was so funny... and the kids had to agree that my morbid sense of humor was quite the riot on Saturday.  So, before Dying eggs on Saturday, this is what happened.  The story behind it really is simple.  The poor cracked egg couldn't be boiled - so I figured that I would set up a scene with him instead... 

Then the two evil counterparts got boiled along with their buddies... BWAHAHAAAAA!!!

Then, they got dunked into the vat of Acid - Isn't that how all super villains are made anyway?

ALAS!  The final product - the Green Hulk Egg and the "I'm so blue!!" Egg.  

Oh... and the kids did have fun too. I promise!! I'll have to post some of their Egg dying adventures in a little while.  I just wanted to share something other than Soccer Pictures. 

Skateboard King

So, during Christmastime, Darrell got a skateboard.  He was so worried that he would never ever be able to ride it because there was just TOO much Snow. Now that it's warming up (hahaha, considering it snowed yesterday again) Well, anyway, he's been out and about trying out the board.  

He already knows how to walk it in a circle and stuff - it's really pretty neat, considering when I get on it - well, it doesn't move very well.  (Or I just fall off entirely).  

You GO Hank Smith From Utah!!

We all love inspirational stuff - we, as L.D.S. people also love for our children to learn how to look inward, and behave in a manner that would be pleasing to the Lord.  Well, Hank Smith is a E.F.Y. speaker, a seminary teacher, an RM, and many other things.  He's also very funny and has put out several CD's with his talks.

The talks are mainly meant for teens and youth - we originally got them for Kennedy, but decided that we would listen to them with all of the kids around. Darrell, it turns out, LOVES Hank Smith and his talks.  He has 2 of the CD's memorized at this point.  So, naturally, when Hank was coming to Celebrating Sisterhood at Rick's store, we decided that we would take the kids down there to meet him. 

It was a GREAT Experience - Darrell was simply enthralled with Hank.  Darrell even Quoted Hank's own CD to him.  As we were leaving Darrell said "Mom! He's just so AWESOME!!" - I would have to agree with Darrell on that one.  Hank Smith is - well - SO AWESOME.  And though he may never read it, I would tell him Thank You for having these great, inspiring talks for Youth.  I would also recommend that if you have teens, or even Tweens - these cd's and talks are Fantastic!!
