Have you all seen this place?

It is truly my newest weakness.  I can spend hours and hours on this website all day long looking at crafts, and ideas, and recipes, and things that other people are doing for Christmas presents.  It's an amazingly addictive site!

How did I get started you wonder?

Well, apparently someone has to send you an invite.  Oh sure, you can go to their site and request to become a part of the place, but then you are on a waitlist and you never know when you are going to be added into the loop.  BUT, if you are really lucky then you can have someone invite you and then you can be part of this massive crafty party online as well.  I must say, it's the biggest "Time-waster" that I have ever been involved with, but I can't stop now!  I have too many things pinned on my walls.  SO, if you are reading this blob, and you do not have an invite to Pinterest yet, but you WANT one - please just let me know.  I will be happy to send you an invite so you can join in my addiction.  And it is just that - a serious, serious addiction.

Bland Blob?

So, the other day I came to my blob, and there were lines down the center - everything was way off, nothing matched - it was so ugly!  So, I decided to try out a few new templates.  However, what I ended up with what Blobbly Blah - How is this for a blob to be?  There's no color - ooooh, I know that I can customize it, but Blobber's new stuff is difficult to navigate.  I liked the dynamic stuff, but then I lost my list of blobs that I follow... Reading their training didn't help much either.  So, Yuck - Yuck Yuck Yicky Yuck to the new Blobber.  I am sure that I will figure it out, but right now - I just want to say YUCK.

Making Christmas, Making Christmas, La la La...

It's the Christmas Season again - time to get out those goal books, where you start planning the season, Planning next year, making resolutions - making Christmas - Making ... well, Stuff.

This year we are doing a lot of "making", "baking", and "taking".  I read on another website that something like 65% of all gifts this year will be homemade.  Now, I am also familiar with the fact that statistics can be manipulated, but since the majority of our gifts to others this year were homemade - well, I can't really argue the statistic that was set before me on that particular website. 

One of the things that we decided to do was pictures.  Now, I have never professed to be a great photographer like my sister.  In fact, though I do say that I have a good Eye for it (Some say I have two eyes for it), my equipment is really sub-par for what I want to do.  My brain knows that it would like to see in a picture, and no matter what I do, I just can't get it to do it.  So, I take lots and lots of pictures trying to get that ONE shot - and it just doesn't seem to turn out the right way.  You might see a lot of those coming out of me in recent days - 

So, to start - the picture above was taken after our power was knocked out during a wind storm a few weeks ago.  Rarely do I have the candles out - as much as I love candles, Ricky-roo doth not like them at all.  So, I don't bust out the candles that frequently.  But, with them out, I just got this idea - and I really love the glow.  So, I took a deep breath - held it as long as I could and steadied myself since I didn't have my tripod with me.  I was fond of the result, But I wanted more - I didn't get it that evening but I did get a few really good ideas.

Lights - yes, that's right - Lights.  Lights down at the Gallivan Center. Why there?  Because Temple Square was an absolute zoo the night that we went.  It was cold - it was miserable - there were people EVERYWHERE - and I don't know what it is, but people in large quantities amounts to terrible traffic because suddenly you lose your capacity to know how to drive appropriately.  Don't ask me why - it's just a personal observation.  But, we did go to the Gallivan center - where I played around with the settings on my camera and tried to get some interesting light pictures - Brokeh I think is what they call this.  I don't care what they call it really - it's pretty.

Besides that , I can use this image to make a lovely scrapbook page.  And for me, isn't that what it's all about anyway?  I think that one of my new years resolutions will be digital scrapbooking though.  Not that I don't like all of the paper and stuff, but I would really like to just drag and drop and make things completed... faster. (Insert smiley here)

This was one of my favorite pictures of the whole night.  When shooting with my Aperture setting, my shutter speed adjusts accordingly and I can't figure out how to speed it up even when I change my aperture.  So, It was, "Take a deep breath and hold still for as long as you can".  This also means that (because the kids can't hold still for forever while my camera does it's thing) that the majority of pictures were blurry.  But sometimes, they would just move - and I would get that cool "Ghostie" effect... this was not the type of picture, but I can appreciate it just the same. :)  He gave it a good effort - no, he really did. 

Either way, I Love Christmas lights.  I will be taking a lot more pictures while they are out for me to play around with. You might be sick of them by the time I am through, but that's alright. . . I don't mind.

Black Friday Shopping!

I know that some of you out there are terribly against this time of year.  The idea of consumers crushing each other to save a mere $50.00, but please remember that not all of us are like that. In fact, I am not like that at all.  I plan in advance people - I look for deals weeks in advance!  Then after I find the deals I look for other places with the same deal, so I know where to go and what time I should be there.  Strategy people!  Do I panic or fight or pull a gun if, after all this amazing planning, I should happen to not get my item?  No.  Do I  pull hair, knock kids over, or run anyone down?  No.  Nothing is that important.  But, I do think that with careful planning and scouting that a person can have a great Black Friday experience, get some good deals, save a little bit of money in the process, and not kill anyone.  I KNOW ! I KNOW!  It's hard to subscribe to the idea of civility in these situations, but I promise, it can be done.  

So, This Thanksgiving weekend, just remember that not all of us are out there to kill.  In fact, I can get in and out of Walmart in a record time (15 minutes) because I plan.  Rarely do I get stuck in long lines and fights - rarely.  The point of this particular Blob is merely to point out that not all of us Black Friday Shoppers are like the picture above... not all of us are raving lunatics out for blood.

Post Title?

I find Blobbing to be so dang time consuming recently!  Seriously!  Who has time for blobbing anyway?  With Bloggers new features and layout, well, I figured that I would see if it would help speed things up... but it hasn't so far.  Mostly because, apparently, I still have to type.  Why can't blogger just pull the information out of my head and put it on the screen, complete with pictures and words and emphasis?

Anyway, nothing going on right now - my adorable sister had a very cute baby, about 5 weeks too early.  My good Friend found out that she is having a girl, another friend just found out that she is expecting, the woman on the soccer team informed me that her sour looks were because she is 10 weeks along, and I have 2 others that are due in the next 3 months.  There are babies EVERYWHERE.  

I was at a U2 Concert a few months ago, watching their little ticker of number of deaths, number of births, number of accidents, you know - and I could not believe how fast the numbers were turning.  However, after looking around and finding out how many of my friends are preggers, well, I guess I could believe it?  A little?

Anyway, Leo Gentry is way cute - I don't have a lot of time - but when has that ever been anything strange? Nothing really changes, right?

I know that every now and then we come across a "Look - A - Like" - and this was sent to me a while ago.  BUT, I ran across it again today and thought... "Jeremy?" - it's not him... but it sure does look like him.  The face, nose, hair, glasses, even the SMUG look on his face... So - I figured I would share it here.. .BWAHAHAHAA.
