My little Overachiever...

He SAID "4" - He GOT 5

Soooo - Yesterday, Darrell played another tremendous game of soccer. In the car he said that he was going to score 4 goals. I gently reminded him that most games there are not that many goals. And that it's not about the goals, it's about having fun and playing the game.

He scored 5 times in this game... I got a few of them on film. It was a VERY Exciting game. I think that he was showing off for Grandma S. while she was there. The funny part was that Grandma would cheer for the other team when they did well too - and Darrell would say to Rick "Why is she doing that? Is she crazy or something?!?! She's not supposed to cheer for the OTHER team!!" It was quite the riot. Anywho, I think that if he sticks with it, we are going to see a pretty good player in the end. This just seems to be his game right now. :) Guess we will see!

I am going crazy

So, ya'll wanna know how crazy I am going right now? Well, at 2:30 this morning, I bounded forth out of bed and got into the shower to get ready for work. I have been getting to work around 6:30 every morning because I have to unlock and set up and it gives me the extra time that I need to work on the massive amount of tickets that come into our system. BUT, I don't know what happened. I thought that I looked at the clock - I really did. And I was pretty sure that it said 5:30 on it. So, I got up and showered and started to get dressed... then, when I got back into my room I looked at the clock again and I said "Rick, am I really going crazy or does that clock say 2:45 on it" - he told me that the clock was right and I needed to come back to bed. - Yeah... how am I supposed to sleep after the shower I just took woke me up? Yup.... crazy. I need sleep. I need a break. I need - - - - - a clock that I can read at 2:30 in the morning. BWAHAHAA!

Birthdays / Halloween / More Soccer - Oh My

So, it's been a busy few weeks. I posted on our birthday - but on Saturday (following the birthday gig) we did a skating thing for Darrell. This was my usual chance to make "The cake". Ooooh, I had grand schemes to do a field with a full soccer ball. But when turning out the field cake, it didn't come out of the pan and broke all up (which stunk it up so bad). So, then I had this huge ball, but it wasn't sitting right, so I had to cut it in half to get it right... so, The soccer ball ended up being half the size of what I wanted to have it. But, Darrell seemed to be pleased with the cake.
Then this weekend - we decorated for Halloween. Right after my birthday is the signal for putting out the decorations. I love Halloween, it is my most favorite holiday. So, I like to celebrate it as long as I possibly can. The "TREAT" thing is one of my newest additions to the list of stuff that I have to put out. My sister gave it to me last year, and I LOVE the way it looks. The kids kept trying to rearrange the letters to make different words, but I always put it back to what it's meant to be. I love Treats.
We decorated the outside of the house... and we even put webbing up for the neighbors. You know, webbing can be stretched EVERYWHERE - and they never decorate. So, might as well give them a little nudge in the right direction. My neighbor is expecting a little one, so perhaps this will get her into that sort of "One day I am going to have to decorate because the kids love it" thing... I don't think so, it's a stretch. BUT, it was still worth a try. (While we were decorating, the kids continued to remind me that "mom, we aren't supposed to decorate the neighbors houses, Remember?!?!" - ooooh, but I was on a mission! It was GOING TO BE festive around this joint!)
And, of course, I have to get out the evil village! I need more stuff, but my piano is temporarily happy while I have my little evil village out. The kids LOVE putting this one together because it moves and stuff. :) I just wish that Lemax made things for the villages that didn't break so easily. (*because, they do break easily - but, superglue is my FRIEND!)
And, yesterday, Darrell's team had soccer pictures. Lovely group of boys - and I am not sure if they were all here... but, It's still a lovely group. Now, do you see that one in the front... yeah, the one with the Glasses.... He's the MVP on the team. You'd never guess that, but he is. Kind of mouthy too, but, that comes with being the teams best soccer player. Ahhh, first the team, then the world! BWAHAHAHA!
So, that's the update so far. Nothing else is really going on right now - just hoping that something will come through for Rick and whatnot. He's still looking for that elusive job - - I will keep you all posted. HUGS!

Happy Birthday!~~!~~!

So - as we all know... soccer season has started for the youngsters. Also, as we all know, my son and ex hubby share my birthday with me. Darrell is one of the best birthday presents that I have ever gotten. And Yesterday, My birthday present got to play soccer - and ... he scored two goals.

Ooooh, but don't be fooled just yet. It wasn't that easy. In fact, while my sister was there - he didn't score one goal. AND he was getting quite frustrated with his team. He would get onto them about how they were on his team and they needed to get out of his way, and things like that. Just frustrated in general.

And yesterday, he also played the best game we have ever seen him play. He was technically sound, used his body appropriately, was more aggressive than usual, hustled the way he should, and scored twice. It was truly an awesome experience.
But, the Incident occurred just after scoring the first goal. "A" was not there to witness it as she had to leave to get "N" to his own soccer game. Darrell runs down the field with the ball and he scores after much frustration. Then he turns around and says "That's what ya get for pi$$ing me off!" *Yes... he said that* - Never have I seen him so aggressive! And at the same time, I am on the sidelines sniggering... terrible, I know it. But still... this is one of those double edged situations. He did get a good talking to, but at the same time, I understand how he was so frustrated that he would act out like that (Or speak out as it were).

Either way, it was still a great game. Go figure...

Yellow and Orange and Graduation, Oh My...

So, on Saturday, Kennedy and Darrell graduated from a white belt in Brazilian Jujitsu to Yellow for Darrell and Orange for Kennedy. According to their instructor, the color difference was not due to levelling, but due to age.

Now, through some sort of parental mis-communication, Kennedy was not present for the belting ceremony. She was out shopping with Lisa. Hmmm... what to do? I know! We will have Jeremy accept her belt for her...

OH Such a proud moment! He's worked so hard for this! Driving them back and forth, and back and forth again!... crazy, I know it.

So, Kennedy wasn't there - but that didn't stop us from doing the next best thing. Rick has been to Brazil, so he's practically certified to handle this situation. We handed him the belt, put Kennedy in Darrell's Gi, and off we went with the camera!

Sure, it wasn't QUITE the same, but in the end, Kennedy got her belt and certificate, and I got my pictures for scrapbooking purposes...

He does look like he's from Brazil, doesn't he... ?? :)
